A closed alpha test is on

The game is unfinished, and that is not a figure of speech. An account is created by invitation, the rules of the world change, the numbers are recalculated, the pages are rewritten. The site and the game may be unavailable without warning.

The world may be rebuilt from scratch — and then colonies, ships, knowledge and history are gone. We will try to warn in advance, but nobody can promise the game progress will survive an alpha, and we do not promise it. The account itself — email, name and password — survives a rebuild of the world.

Who may play

Anyone who is 16 or older. That is exactly what the date of birth is asked for at registration, and nothing else: below that age the form does not let you through.

The account

The account is yours. Do not hand the password to anybody: whatever is done from your account counts as done by you.

The name is chosen once and never changes — neither on the site nor in the game: your consciousness is named after it, and that name is what other players see. Names the project and its administration sign themselves with are not given out.

There is no password recovery: we send no mail at all. A lost password is lost access, and the only way back is the channel your invitation came through.

What we ask

• do not have a script or a bot play for you: the game is slow by design, and working around that spoils it for you and for your neighbours;
• do not enter anybody else's account and do not break the server. Found a hole — tell us instead of using it;
• do not pass yourself off as the project's administration or as another player;
• in messages to other players — no harassment, threats, advertising or other people's personal data. A message can be reported, and the report reaches a human.

What happens after a breach

A conversation, a restriction, or a closed account — depending on what happened. While the alpha is on, the decision is the author's, and it is explained to the person it concerns.

The game takes no money

There is nothing to buy in it today, nobody asks you for payment details, and no page of the site accepts them. If something paid appears, the terms will change in advance and it will be said plainly — nobody is signed up to anything after the fact.

Who owns what

The game, its texts, images and code belong to the project. What you write — the name of your consciousness, the names of your ships and systems, the messages to other players — belongs to you; the project stores and shows it for one purpose, so that the game works.

This is an alpha: the game changes, and the terms change with it. The date of the last edit is below, and anything substantial goes into the changelog.
